GALLERY: Raconteurs at Cain's Ballroom

On Wednesday, October 16, The Raconteurs completed their historic three-night run of concerts at Cain’s Ballroom with their longest, loosest, and hardest rocking show of the week. Brendan Benson, Jack White, Jack Lawrence, Patrick Keeler, and Dean Fertita played a twenty-song set that pulled from all three of the band’s albums, leaning into the tunes and expanding many into unabashed displays of rock and roll heroics.

Show highlights included a pair of stripped down acoustic duets by Benson and White, a raucous take on “Broken Boy Soldier” that blossomed into a cover of Patti Smith’s “Gloria,” and an extended journey through the hypnotic fuzz-blues of the set-closer “Blue Veins.”

Sure to be remembered as one of the great rock and roll moments at the hallowed venue, The Raconteurs relentless trio of concerts at Cain’s represented the best of what live music can be: an exhilarating flash of sound and fury.
