GALLERY: Tool at BOK Center
Phil Clarkin
Denver Avenue erupted on Oct. 29, when art-metal institution Tool took the stage at the BOK Center. Months after releasing their first album in thirteen years (Fear Inoculum), the band’s return to Tulsa was met with a sustained roar of gratitude as the quartet ripped through a seamless set of new songs and old favorites in the 19,199-seat arena.
The band’s newer material was delivered with urgency, and their back catalogue was delivered with respect. Songs like “Intolerance” and “Forty-Six & 2,” faithful and ferocious, bloomed in the cavernous arena. The crowd gave that ferocity right back, resulting in one of the loudest and most electrifying shows Tulsa has seen all year.
